West Las Vegas Elementary Schools Celebrate Dr. Seuss's Birthday and Read Across America Week We are excited to announce that West Las Vegas Elementary Schools will be celebrating the birthday of Dr. Seuss and participating in Read Across America Week! This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to engage with the joy of reading and to honor the beloved author whose stories have inspired generations. Throughout the week, we will have special dress-up days to bring our celebrations to life. We encourage all students to participate and showcase their creativity while embracing the spirit of reading. We look forward to seeing our students dressed up and excited about reading as we celebrate this significant occasion together!

January 15, 2025 Dear WLVS Family, We are writing to inform you of a recent cybersecurity incident involving PowerSchool, a software vendor that provides our Student Information System (SIS). On Tuesday, January 7, 2025, PowerSchool informed our leadership team that they experienced a cybersecurity incident involving unauthorized access to certain PowerSchool SIS customer data. Unfortunately, they have confirmed that the information belongs to some WLVS families and educators. PowerSchool informed us that the data taken primarily includes parent and student contact information and data elements such as name and address information. Across their customer base, they have determined that some personally identifiable information (PII), such as social security numbers (SSN) and medical information, was impacted for a portion of individuals. They are urgently working to complete their investigation and determine whether PII belonging to our students was included. Protecting our students is something we take seriously. With PowerSchool’s help, more information and resources (including credit monitoring or identity protection services, if applicable) will be provided to you as they become available. Good afternoon West Las Vegas Athletics will begin charging admission to students, as follows For WLVHS Events: High students will be admitted FREE for high school ONLY events, with Power School Schedule. All other students will pay $3 WLVMS students admitted free to middle school events ONLY with Power School Schedule; all other students will pay $3. The Food Depot will be providing healthy groceries to ensure our community's children start the year off right! This event will take place from 9:30 am to 11:00 am at WLV High School.

Many of our businesses have been impacted and have had to close. West Las Vegas High School cares about our community, and we are asking for your help. WLV LADY DONS BASKETBALL YOUTH CAMP The WLV Dons will be hosting a youth skills camp starting tomorrow June 11th and 12th from 9:00am-12:00pm. WLVHS Gillie Lopez Gymnasium. Ages 5-13. All participants will receive a team camp shirt. Breakfast is provided. Basketballs and other equipment provided. $50 cash only. All participants will need to bring their own water bottle.
