West Las Vegas Elementary Schools Celebrate Dr. Seuss's Birthday and Read Across America Week
We are excited to announce that West Las Vegas Elementary Schools will be celebrating the birthday of Dr. Seuss and participating in Read Across America Week! This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to engage with the joy of reading and to honor the beloved author whose stories have inspired generations.
Throughout the week, we will have special dress-up days to bring our celebrations to life. We encourage all students to participate and showcase their creativity while embracing the spirit of reading.
We look forward to seeing our students dressed up and excited about reading as we celebrate this significant occasion together!
WLV Staff does get into the games vs RHS, today and tomorrow.
ONLY WLVHS students are admitted FREE with their Power School Schedule. All other students will be charged $3, provided they show their Power School Schedule.

Dear WLVS Family,
We are writing to inform you of a recent cybersecurity incident involving PowerSchool, a software vendor that provides our Student Information System (SIS).
On Tuesday, January 7, 2025, PowerSchool informed our leadership team that they experienced a cybersecurity incident involving unauthorized access to certain PowerSchool SIS customer data. Unfortunately, they have confirmed that the information belongs to some WLVS families and educators.
PowerSchool informed us that the data taken primarily includes parent and student contact information and data elements such as name and address information. Across their customer base, they have determined that some personally identifiable information (PII), such as social security numbers (SSN) and medical information, was impacted for a portion of individuals. They are urgently working to complete their investigation and determine whether PII belonging to our students was included.
Protecting our students is something we take seriously. With PowerSchool’s help, more information and resources (including credit monitoring or identity protection services, if applicable) will be provided to you as they become available. West Las Vegas Athletics will begin charging admission to students, as follows
For WLVHS Events:
High students will be admitted FREE for high school ONLY events, with Power School Schedule. All other students will pay $3
WLVMS students admitted free to middle school events ONLY with Power School Schedule; all other students will pay $3.
All elementary students will be charged $3 with Power School Schedule. Adult supervision will be required.
General admission will not change. All fans will continue to be charged $7.
We will start this on Tuesday, Oct 22, as the Lady Dons Volleyball team will host SFIS
And also remind students that NO BACKPACKS WILL BE ALLOWED.

As per the agreement we have with the City of Las Vegas Horses are not allowed in the parade. Many of our businesses have been impacted and have had to close. West Las Vegas High School cares about our community, and we are asking for your help. We are excited to announce the launch of our online store, where you can purchase an item. Our store's funds will help our freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior classes buy items for their homecoming float designs without going into our community to solicit from our fantastic business. Our online store is an excellent opportunity to show your Dons Pride. Please consider purchasing an item. The additional $1.00 gets the item shipped to us. Shipment should arrive around Sept 25. Our store will close on August 16th @ noon.
