Hello families:
This is a friendly reminder from West Las Vegas High School and Family Partnership that we want our students to have a safe and enjoyable night at prom. We value your role in this, and we encourage all students to make responsible decisions and to have a fun, clean night free of drugs and alcohol and have a memorable evening. Your cooperation and support in promoting a safe and memorable night are greatly appreciated. Just to let you know, Prom is considered a school activity. Our discipline matrix will address any misconduct at prom. We love that our Dons respect one another and create an atmosphere that is positive.
Attendees will be subject to a thorough breathalyzer assessment at the entrance and possibly at the exit if there is suspicion that a student may be under the influence. We want to assure you that we are taking every measure to prioritize the well-being of our students. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Have a fantastic and safe prom night. It's almost time to Dance the night away. Enjoy!!
Warm regards to all,
Carla Pacheco, Principal

Dear Parent or Guardian:
As we approach the end of the school year, we would like to inform you that WLVHS and Family Partnership are providing one final push for credit recovery until the window closes on May 16.
The courses will close on this date, and your student will need to start all over. Students already enrolled in the Edgenuity program may attend a session before school starting at 7:15 AM or during lunch, which will begin promptly at 11:40 AM and end at 12:20 PM. If your child chooses this option and would like a tray for lunch, they will need to communicate this to the principal or assistant principal. The other option is that they stay from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM.
We encourage all students in credit recovery to take advantage of these additional opportunities to catch up on their coursework and ensure a successful completion of their coursework and classes. Please have your child visit with the Principal or Assistant Principal to sign up for a time that they would like to work on Edgenuity so we can ensure we have personnel in place to assist them. Sign up will commence on Monday, April 22nd. It is crucial that your child make the most of this time to improve their grades and academic performance before the end of the school year.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding your child's participation in credit recovery on Edgenuity, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. Thank you for your continued support and involvement in your child’s education.
Best regards,
Carla Pacheco, Principal Rita Sanchez, Vice Principal

Happy Valentine's Day Dons. This message is to inform you that any flower or Valentine Deliveries will be held at the front office until the end of the day. At that time they will be given out to students. We want to ensure there is minimal disruption to learning. We Love Our Dons Every Day...Not just on Valentine's Day!
Good Afternoon to all:
We have been closely monitoring our habitual tardiness and truancy with students. As a result, we did close campus for a few weeks. Last week, Seniors had the opportunity to leave campus for lunch with the understanding that they would need to be in good standing to be allowed off this week. Our data determined that there are few Seniors in good standing. They continue to be tardy and have some unexcused absences. Please note that those found to NOT be in good standing will have a closed campus this week and will have this week to remedy this issue by fixing their tardiness so they can be allowed off next week. We will allow juniors off campus for lunch tomorrow. Their ability to leave the rest of the week will depend on students reporting to class on time the rest of the week. Freshman- and - Sophomore students in good standing will receive an incentive movie at the end of the month as part of our Positive Behavior Intervention Rewards.
Regular school attendance is crucial for academic success as it allows students to engage in learning and classroom activities fully. Consistency is critical to developing responsibility skills that are essential for future success. It's Always A Great Day to Be A Don! Reminder....the first bell rings at 7:55. Don't be late.
Good Morning Dons. This message serves as a reminder that students from West Las Vegas Schools do no have school today, Monday, Feb. 12, due to an in-service. Staff does need to report.
Attention seniors from WLVHS and FP starting this week you can go off-campus during lunchtime. However, to be eligible for this privilege the following week, seniors must maintain good attendance and arrive on time for all their classes throughout the week with no unexcused absences or tardies. If they meet this requirement, they will receive a pass to leave the campus for lunch the following week. If they fail to meet this requirement, they will not be allowed to leave the campus during lunchtime and must have lunch on campus. This will be determined on a week to week basis. We will soon be extending this privilege to juniors as well. Sophomores and Freshman students will have a different incentive program, and administrators will meet with them to discuss it."
